1 O you (Yaa Ayyuha) Mantled fellow (El'Muddatthir) *,

2 get up (Qum’) and (Fa) warn (Anthir')

4 Iceṭṭiḍen ik, zzizdeg!
4 and (Wa) then (Fa) purify (Tohhir) your clothes (s) (Thiyaaba-ka) ,

5 Timenqas janeb!
5 and (Wa) then (Fa) avoid (Eh'jur') filth (Er'Ruj'za) ,

6 Ur ţţak ma tuṛoiḍ kteṛ!
6 and (Wa) do not (Laa) wish for (Tam'nun) more (Tas'tak'thir) ,

7 I Mass ik, eṣbeṛ!
7 and (Wa) so (Fa) be patient (Es'bir') for (Li) your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) .

8 Ma ṣuḍen di lbuq,
8 And (Fa) when (Izaa) the trumpet (En'Naaquuri) is blown (Nuqira Fii) ,

9 then (Fa) that (Thaalika) day (Yaw'maithin) will be a difficult (Äsiir) day (Yaw'mun)

10 for (Älaa) the disbelievers (El'Kaafiriina), it will not (Gai'ru) be easy (Yasiir) .

11 “Leave ME (Thar'nii) with (Wa) whom (Man') I (God) have created (Khalaq'tu) alone (Wahiidaa) ,

12 and (Wa) to whom (Lahu) I have granted (Jaäl'tu) extensive (Mam'duudaa) wealth (Maalan)

13 and (Wa) children (Baniina) to be witnessed (Shuhuudaa) ,

14 Ssehleɣ as, ad istumen.
14 and (Wa) I have made facilitation (Tam'hiidaa) easy (-Mahhadttu) for him (Lahu) ;

15 Sinna issarem ad Rnuɣ.
15 thereupon (Thumma) he desires (Yat'mau) that (An') I (God) should increase (Aziid) . (74:6)

16 Xaṭi! Atan, issekniyen nneƔ, inkeṛ iten.
16 “Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed, he (Innahu) has been stubborn (Äniidaa) to (Li) Our verses (Aayaati-naa) .

17 Ad ḥeţţmeɣ fellas ssxeḍ.
17 “I (God) will (Sa) escalate (So'uudan) his burden (Ur'hiqu-hu) .

18 Ih, ixemmem, dɣa iseyya.
18 “Indeed, he (Innahu) pondered (Fakkara) and (Wa) estimated (Qaddar) .

19 “And (Fa) how (Kai'fa) he estimated (Qaddar) was to oppose (Qutila) ,

20 and (Thumma) how (Kai'fa) he estimated (Qaddar) was to oppose (Qutila) ;

21 so (Fa) he observed (Nazor)

22 Sinna, ikres tagwenza, innuɣben.
22 and then (Thumma) frowned (Äbasa) and (Wa) scowled (Basar) ,

23 Sinna, izzux, ibren.
23 and then (Thumma) turned back (Ad'bara) and (Wa) became arrogant (Es'tak'bar)

24 Dɣa inna: "wagi d ssḥur kan iţţulemden.
24 and (Fa) said (Qaala), ‘This (Haathaa) is only (In' illa) traced (Yu'thar) sorcery (Sih'run) .

25 Ayagi d awal kan n umdan".
25 ‘This (Haathaa) is only (In' illa) the word of a human (Qaw'lul' Bashar) .’

26 A t Fkeɣ i tmes iṛeqqen.
26 “I (God) will burn him (Sa Us'lii-hi) in hellfire (Saqar) .”

27 W ara k imlen, d acu ţ tmes iṛeqqen?
27 And (Wa) what (Maa) will make you (s) know (Ad'raa-ka) what (Maa) is hellfire (Saqar) ?

28 Ur teţţaooa, ur tessagwar.
28 (the fire) neither (Laa) remains (Tub'qii) nor (Walaa) leaves (Tathar) ,

29 Tesseṛɣa igwelman.
29 it scorches (Lawwaahatun) the skin (human) (-Lil' Bashar) .

30 Over it (Älai'haa) are nineteen (angels) (Tis'äta Äshar) .

31 D lmalayek kan i Nerra d imawlan n tmes. Nefka d kan amḍan nnsent, iwakken ad hewwlen wid ijehlen; ad ţţutebbten wid iwumi teţţunefk Tezmamt; ad innerni liman n wid iumnen; ur iţţili ccekk ar wid iwumi teţţunefk Tezmamt, akked lmumnin; akken ad inin at wul iblan, akked ijehliyen: "acu i Ibɣa Ṛebbi s umedya agi"? Akka, Itellif Ṛebbi win i S ihwan, Inehhu win i S ihwan. Iɛsekṛiwen n Mass ik, siwa Neţţa iten Issnen. Wagi d asmekti kan i imdanen.
31 And (Wa) We have only (Maa illa) assigned (Jaäl'naa) Angels (Malaaikatan) as the Custodians of the Fire (39:71) (As'haaba En'Naari), and (Wa) We have only (Maa illa) made (Jaäl'naa) their number 19 (Eddata-hum') as a trial (Fit'natan) for those who (Lillathiina) disbelieve (Kafaru'); so that (Li) those who (Ellathiina) were given (Uutu') the Book (El'Kitaaba) will be convinced (Yas'tai'qina) and those who (Ellathiina) have believed (Aamanuu') will increase (Yaz'daada) in faith (iimaanan), and those who (Ellathiina) were given (Uutu') the Book (El'Kitaaba) and the believers (El'Mu'minuuna) will not (Laa) mistrust (Yar'taaba), and (Wa) that (Li) those (Ellathiina) in (Fii) whose hearts (Quluubi-him) is disease (Maradun) and the disbelievers (El'Kaafiruuna) will say (Yaquula), "What (Maathaa) does GOD intend (Araada-llahu) with (Bi) this (Haatha) example (Mathalan)? " Thus (Kathaalika) does GOD (Ellahu) send astray (Yudillu) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaau) and guides (Yah'dii) whomever (Man) HE wills (Yashaau). And (Wa) none (Maa) knows (Ya'lamu) the soldiers (Junuuda) of your LORD (s) (Rabbi-ka) except (illa) HIM (Huwa); and (Wa) it (Hiya) is only (Maa illa) a remembrance (Thik'raa) to the human (Lil' Bashar) .

32 Nay (Kallaa)! By (Wa) the moon (El'Qamar) ,

33 and (Wa) the night (Ellai'li) when (Ith') it escapes (Ad'bar) ,

34 S tafrara ma tecɛal!
34 and (Wa) the morning (Es'Sub'hi) when (Ithaa) it appears (As'far) .

35 Ar neţţat d tabarart.
35 Indeed, it (Innahaa) is (La) one (Ih'daa) of the major (El'Kubar)

36 warnings (Nathiiran) to the human (Lil' Bashar) ;

37 I win ibɣan, segwen, ad iqeddem, neɣ ad iwexxeṛ.
37 for (Li) whoever (Man) among you (Minkum') wants (Shaa'a) to (An) advance (Yataqaddama) or (Aw') stay behind (Yata-akkhar) .

38 Yal iman d ameṛhun n wayen ixdem.
38 Every (Kullu) soul (Naf'si) will be a hostage (Rahiinat’) by what (Bimaa) it has earned (Kasabat')

39 except (illa) the Companions of the right side (As'haabal' Yamiin) ,

40 in (Fii) gardens (Jannaatin), asking each other (Yatasaa'aluun)

41 about (Äni) the criminals (El'Muj'rimiin) ,

42 "What (Maa) put you (p) (Salaka-kum') in (Fii) hellfire (Saqar) ?"

43 They (the criminals) will say (Qaalu'), "We were (Naku) not (Lam') of (Mina) those who were prayerful (107:4-5) (El'Musolliin) ,

44 nor (Walam') did we (Naku) feed (Nut'emu) the poor (El'Mis'kiin) ,

45 and (Wa) we used to (Kunnaa) engage (6:68) (Nakhuudu) with (Maä) those who engaged (El'Khaaidiin) ,

46 and (Wa) We used to (Kunnaa) deny (Nukathzibu Bi) the Day of Judgement (Yaw'mi-d'Diin)

47 until (Hattaa) the certainty (102:5) (El’Yaqiin) came to us (Ataa-naa) ."

48 Ur ten tenfaɛ ccafuɛa imcafɛen.
48 Therefore (Fa) the intercession (2:48) (Shafaa'ätu) of the intercessors (Es'Shaafieen) will not (Maa) benefit them (Tanfau-hum') .

49 Mi ugin asmekti, d acu ten iuɣen?
49 So (Fa) why are they (Maa La-hum') turning away from (Mu'ridiin Äni) the reminder (73:19) (Ettath'kirati) ,

50 as if they (Ka'annahum') were alerted (Mus'tanfira’) donkeys (Humurun)

51 fleeing (Farrat') from (Min) the lion (Qas'wara’) ?!

52 Ziɣ yal yiwen degsen ibɣa ad as d asen isebtar ifesren.
52 In fact (Bal'), every (Kullu) person (Em'ri'i) among them (Min'hum') wants (Yuriidu) to (An) be given (Yu'taa) spread out (Munasshara’) pages (Suhufaan) .

53 Xaṭi! Laxeṛt, ur ţ ugaden.
53 Nay (Kallaa)! But (Bal) they do not (Laa) fear (Yakhaafuuna) the hereafter (11:103) (El'Aakhira') .

54 Xaṭi! Wagi, war ccekk, d asmekti.
54 Nay (Kallaa)! Indeed, it (Innahu) is a reminder (Tath'kira’) ,

55 Win ibɣan, a t ismekti.
55 so (Fa) whoever (Man) wills (Shaa'a) should remember it (Thakara-hu) ,

56 Siwa ma Ibɣa Ṛebbi ara d smektayen. D Neţţa ay d Bab uḥezzeb, d Bab n ssmaḥ.
56 and (Wa) none (Maa) will remember (Yath'kuruuna) unless (illaa An) GOD wills (Yashaa'a-llahu). He (the human) (Huwa) must be qualified (Ah'lu) for piousness (Ettaq'waa) and (Wa) qualified (Ah'lu) for forgiveness (El'Mag'fira’) .
