سليمان
Why the six-pointed star

The six-pointed star — the Seal of Solomon (خاتم سليمان), also called the Merkaba — belongs to no single people. It is found for thousands of years across the Mediterranean and North Africa: on coins, mosques, manuscripts and seals. Its earlier meaning is metaphysical, the meeting of two orders, and tradition ties it to the prophets, Solomon above all. Only in recent centuries was it taken up as the emblem of one nation, which is why many now read it as theirs alone. This site uses it as the seal of the prophets, in its older sense. The history is open for discussion like everything else here.
